Energy Minister Says AP Striving to Reduce Power Cost by Rs.1/unit

Gottipati Ravi Kumar said that two 33/11 KV sub-stations and one 132 KV sub-station have been sanctioned to Nuzvid constituency at the request of Minister Pardha Saradhi.

Kakinada: Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Saturday declared that the state government is striving to reduce power charges by ₹1 per unit in coming days.

Inaugurating the 33/11 KV sub-station established at a cost of ₹4.31 crore at Thotapalli village in Agiripalli mandal of Eluru district on Saturday, along with Housing minister Kolusu Pardha Saradhi, Ravi Kumar said in keeping with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s promise made during the 2024 elections, true-up charges have already been reduced to 0.13 paise per unit.

The minister pointed out that several works have been taken up in Nuzvid constituency at a cost of ₹280 crore through the electricity department. 60 out of the 109 feeders required so far feeders have been put up in place. Remaining feeders too would be completed soon by exerting pressure on contractors.

The Energy minister said the central government has fixed a target of providing one crore solar connections in the country under PM Surya Ghar scheme. Out of this, 20 lakh connections have been given to AP. He said 6,000 solar connections have been made available in Nuzvid constituency at a cost of ₹75 crore.

He said that two 33/11 KV sub-stations and one 132 KV sub-station have been sanctioned to Nuzvid constituency at the request of Minister Pardha Saradhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Pardha Saradhi said many industrialists are coming forward to make investments in Andhra Pradesh due to the efforts of Chandrababu Naidu.

Among those present at the venue included CPDCL superintendent engineer Hanumanthaiah.
