Employees’ Unions Warn of Agitation Over Pending Demands
Reddy said employees were not seeking new concessions but wanted the coalition government to implement assurances made in its election manifesto.

Nellore: APJAC Amaravati and APRSA leaders urged the government employees, pensioners, contract and outsourcing staff should be prepared for an agitation if the government fails to resolve their long-pending demands.
Addressing a a meeting at the Nellore Collectorate on Sunday, APJAC Amaravati district chairman Allampati Penchala Reddy urged employees to attend the APJAC Amaravati State Conference in Vijayawada on August 28, where the next phase of the agitation is expected to be announced.
Reddy said employees were not seeking new concessions but wanted the coalition government to implement assurances made in its election manifesto. He expressed disappointment that no concrete decisions had emerged despite detailed discussions between the Cabinet sub-committee and employee unions on July 22.
The unions demanded immediate appointment of the Pay Revision Commission, announcement of Interim Relief, release of five pending DAs and a clear schedule for payment of salary and pension arrears. They also sought restoration of the additional quantum of pension, a pension corporation, and minimum time scale, HR policy and welfare benefits for contract and outsourcing employees.
Reddy disputed government claims on salary and pension expenditure, citing CAG figures to contend that the share was significantly lower than portrayed.
He said 41,321 employees had retired between 2024 and 2026, while around 1.5 lakh more were expected to retire by 2035, substantially reducing the government’s salary burden.
The leaders warned that failure to act on the demands would leave employees with no option but to launch an agitation, for which the government would be responsible.
