VISAKHAPATNAM: Velairpad received 7.6 cm of rainfall, followed by Kukunoor 5.6, both in Eluru district, while Kunavaram in Alluri Sitarama Raju district received 4.4 cm. The rest of the places received moderate rainfall.
The IMD report said the depression over Jharkhand and the neighbourhood moved nearly westward with a speed of 28 kmph during the past 6 hours and lay over northern Chhattisgarh and adjoining Jharkhand on Saturday.
It is very likely to continue to move nearly westward across north Chhattisgarh and east Madhya Pradesh and weaken gradually into a well-marked low-pressure area by Sunday.
The report said thundershowers are likely over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam till July 29. Thereafter dry weather will prevail.
