Vijayawada: An elderly woman was robbed of her gold chain and mobile phone at her residence in KL Rao Nagar, Kothapet area, on Friday night.
According to the II Town police, the unidentified thief broke into the woman’s house and assaulted her before making off with the valuables worth around Rs 60,000.
The injured woman was rushed to a private hospital for treatment and is currently reported to be in stable condition. The police have registered a case under Section 392 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched an investigation to apprehend the culprit.
