Ekadasha Rudra Parayanam Marks Grand Finale At Prasanthi Nilayam
Thousands of Vedic chanters from across the country attended the event, while Sai devotees from various centres joined online under the aegis of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council.
ANANTAPUR: Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi, witnessed the solemn offering of Ekadasha Rudra Parayanam on Saturday, marking the grand culmination of the nationwide Rudra Upasana conducted across the 12 revered Jyotirlinga Kshetras of India.
The spiritual initiative, organised as part of the centenary year celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s divine advent, began at Somnath Temple in Gujarat and covered all the Jyotirlinga shrines before concluding at Prasanthi Nilayam.
The programme commenced with Deepa Prajwalana by R.J. Rathnakar, Managing Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, K. Chakravarthi, chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, trustee I.S.N. Prasad and Nimish Pandya, All India president of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations.

The morning session began with Sankalpa, followed by chanting of Sri Rudram and Namakam. Men and women chanters participated alternately, creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere.
Later, the proceedings moved to Sai Kulwant Hall, where the three-and-a-half-hour Ekadasha Rudra Parayanam continued. Sri Rudram was chanted 11 times, with Chamakam recited between each round.
Bhajans followed the conclusion of the Vedic rituals, while Mangala Arathi marked the end of the year-long spiritual observance.
