ED Raids On Former APPSC Secretary PSR Anjaneyulu & Others In Evaluation Scam

The ED has intensified its probe into the APPSC Group-I evaluation matter, which took place during the previous YSRCP government’s tenure, and registered an ECIR under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Hyderabad/Vijayawada: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched simultaneous raids across 7 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Wednesday morning in connection with alleged irregularities in the evaluation of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Group-I Mains examination.

The agency is conducting searches at the residences of two accused in the case- former APPSC Secretary and IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu and CamSign Media Director P Madhusudana Rao.
Apart from their houses, Aavasa Resort Haailand in Chinakakani village of Guntur District (where the answer scripts were kept and the evaluation exercise was carried out) were searched.
The other locations include that of TruGrader Services, a division of Stone Media Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. (which conducted the earlier digital evaluation for APPSC) in Secunderabad, its MD Akella Peri Srinivasa Rao, and Mahamkali Raghuram, who was engaged in connection with the evaluation work, according to the ED
Searches were conducted at PSR Anjaneyulu's residence in Kasimbowli (Ranga Reddy district), locations in Hyderabad’s Panchavati Colony, Punjagutta, and Neredmet and Alwal's Venkatapuram.
The ED has intensified its probe into the Group-I evaluation matter, which took place during the previous YSRCP government’s tenure, and registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), naming former APPSC Secretary and retired IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu as a prime accused
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which had earlier probed the case, made the following findings where CamSign Media allegedly retained the Group-I Mains answer scripts for 84 days at a resort near Mangalagiri, instead of following standard evaluation procedures. It is reported that 66 unqualified individuals were allegedly engaged to transfer pre-determined marks onto OMR sheets, without proper CCTV surveillance or oversight. Investigators alleged misappropriation of public funds, including over ₹1.14 crore paid to CamSign Media and ₹1.38 crore paid to other private entities.
A police case was registered by the Suryaraopet police in Vijayawada in April 2025 following the SIT report.
Further details are awaited as the searches continue.
