EC to Take Up Special Drive To Reverify ASDD Electors From Thursday

Final electoral rolls in AP to be released on October 16: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: The Election Commission would take up a special drive from Thursday to reverify ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate) and other ineligible electors during the notice phase for registration of new and left-out electors.

Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav said on Wednesday that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would conduct door-to-door visits with lists containing 46,62,583 deleted names for their respective polling stations and re-verify the status of the electors.

If any elector is found to have been deleted inadvertently, the BLOs will facilitate submission of Form-6 for enrolment in the electoral roll under the continuous updation process, subject to due verification.

The special drive, Yadav said, is aimed at ensuring that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll while excluding ineligible names.

The final electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls-2026 in Andhra Pradesh will be published on October 16.

The four qualifying dates — January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 — will be available for enrollment. Annual summary revision will be conducted with January 1 of the succeeding year as the qualifying date.

Electors left out of the final roll published on October 16 and those who become eligible on subsequent qualifying dates can submit Form-6 for enrolment.

As part of the SIR exercise, BLOs conducted house-to-house visits from June 15 to July 24. A total of 44,89,512 electors were reported as “not found” at their given addresses during the enumeration phase due to death, permanent shifting, multiple enrolments, untraceability or other reasons.

After the enumeration and elimination of ASDD electors, draft electoral rolls were published on July 31 with a total electorate of 3,71,38,182. After publication of the draft roll, another 1,73,071 electors were found ineligible as of October 6 for inclusion in the final electoral rolls to be published on October 16.
