EAGLE, Police Conduct Anti-Drug Checks In Vijayawada
Andhra Pradesh’s EAGLE team and local police screened 21 people during anti-drug inspections in Vijayawada, with no positive tests or narcotics recovered.
The Andhra Pradesh EAGLE team and local police conducted joint inspections in Vambay Colony, Excel Plant and Ajit Singh Nagar under Operation Trishoolam to check drug abuse and detect narcotics-related activities.
The drive was supervised by EAGLE regional inspector Nagarjuna, following directions from AP EAGLE chief and IGP Aake Ravikrishna. Officials screened around 21 people using drug detection kits, but none tested positive. No prohibited articles or narcotics-related substances were found.
EAGLE inspector Nagarjuna and Ajit Singh Nagar inspector Chandrasekhar said inspections would continue across residential blocks and other establishments. Those involved in illegal activities would face action under relevant laws.
Officials urged youngsters to stay away from drugs and appealed to residents to report ganja sales, illegal narcotics transportation and drug consumption. Under the “Break the Silence” campaign, information can be shared through the EAGLE toll-free number 1972.
