E-Lottery Allots 496 Returnable Plots To 275 To Amaravati Capital Farmers

The allocations were made through a transparent e-lottery system at the APCRDA headquarters in Rayapudi in Amaravati: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Friday allotted 496 returnable plots to 275 farmers who had provided their land for construction of the people’s capital, Amaravati.

The allocations were made through a transparent e-lottery system at the APCRDA headquarters in Rayapudi in Amaravati.

The e-lottery process was conducted in two sessions. From 10 am to 1 pm, farmers from villages including Kuragallu, Velagapudi, Mandadam, Nidamarru, Penumaka, Thullur, Nekallu, Anantavaram, Nelapadu, Dondapadu, Pichukalapalem, Lingayapalem, Uddandarayunipalem and Malkapuram lined up. In this session, 115 plots were allotted to 80 farmers, officials said.

In the second session, held from 3 pm to 5 pm, farmers from Undavalli village, who had handed over land under the Land Pooling Scheme (Clause 9.14) since 2015, were covered. Some 381 residential and commercial plots were allotted to 195 farmers in this phase.

Before the final draw, officials conducted a trial run using an online random system, following which the live lottery was held. Farmers who received returnable plots were issued provisional certificates on the spot.

CRDA officials clarified that none of the allotted plots had road cuts (road soola) and that no plots were assigned in areas where land had not been acquired by the authority. Addressing concerns raised by some farmers, officials said plots facing the south had never been classified as road-cut plots and had been allotted similarly in the past as well.

They also dismissed apprehensions that plots were being allotted in low-lying areas or near burial grounds, describing such claims as misconceptions. Any plots falling in such areas, they assured, would be fully developed as per the returnable plot layout rules before being handed over.

Special grade deputy collector (capital city) Vasantha Rayudu said GIS staff and village surveyors had been deployed to explain the exact geographical locations of the allotted plots to beneficiaries. He urged farmers to complete the registration process at the earliest. He said no registration fee would be charged.

APCRDA planning director Suresh Kumar, special deputy collectors M. Seshireddy, A.G. Chinnikrishna, P. Padmavathi, G. Ravinder, B. Sai Srinivasa Nayak, K.S. Bhagyarekha and CRDA staff were present.
