Durga Temple Tops in Devotee Amenities in State

The Kanaka Durga temple secured the highest devotee amenities feedback score for the second consecutive month in the Andhra Pradesh government’s survey.

The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, popularly known as the Kanaka Durga temple, has secured the top rank among major temples in Andhra Pradesh in the state government's monthly assessment of devotee amenities, recording a 74 per cent positive feedback score for July.

The state government evaluates key temples, including those at Vijayawada, Srisailam, Dwaraka Tirumala, Kanipakam, Simhachalam, Annavaram and Sri Kalahasti, on four parameters — quality of darshan, availability of drinking water, freshness and taste of prasadam, and sanitation.

The information and public relations department collects feedback every month through an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), contacting devotees selected at random from temple visitor records. Rankings are assigned based on the responses received.

According to the July rankings, the Kanaka Durga temple topped the list with 74 per cent positive feedback, followed by Dwaraka Tirumala with 72.4 per cent. Kanipakam and Annavaram shared the third position with 69.9 per cent each, while Simhachalam secured 69.7 per cent and Sri Kalahasti 69.4 per cent.

Temple authorities expressed happiness over retaining the top position for the second consecutive month after also securing first rank in June. They said continuous monitoring of facilities and prompt rectification of shortcomings had helped ensure a satisfactory experience for devotees.
