Vijayawada: A 35-year-old man attacked and broke the head of his wife he had abandoned four years ago, suspecting her fidelity.
Dachepalli police said Sk. Saida had abandoned his wife Shamimunni and three daughters four years ago. On Sunday night, he arrived at Shamimunni’s house in Jagananna Colony in an inebriated condition, beat up and smashed her head into the ground, severely injuring her.
Based on a complaint by Shamimunni, Dachepalli police arrested the accused under Sections 324 and 498 of IPC, circle inspector Rajapalli Surendrababu said.
