Drugs Officials Raid Medical Shops, Seize Viagra, Narcotic Drugs In Erstwhile Godavari districts
Main accused identified as K. Ganesh hails from Rajamahendravaram

Vijayawada:The drugs control administration sleuths raided several medical shops in Buttaigudem, Koyyalagudem and other areas in the erstwhile Godavari districts. They seized sex stimulants viagra, abortifacients and narcotic drugs stored unauthorisedly in the last few days and found that the main accused in the case, identified as K. Ganesh, hails from Rajamahendravaram.
The drugs officials raided the premises of Lakshmi Durga medical and general stores in Buttaigudem village and seized five varieties of drugs on July 4. They also inspected the premises of Sri Karthikeya medical and general stores in Buttaigudem and found two varieties of six stimulants (viagra) and abortifacient drugs on the same day.
On July 5, the drugs officials inspected the premises of Murali Krishna medical stores in Koyyalagudem and found seven varieties of drugs including sex stimulants, abortifacient drugs and narcotics.
The drugs authorities under Sections 23 (5)(b) and 23 (6) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 had intimated about the seized drugs to the judicial first class magistrate court at Jangareddygudem.
In the course of preliminary inquiry, the authorities found that Ganesh was selling such drugs while riding on his bike to several medical shops located in both the Godavari districts in the last two years without having valid bills. He was said to be purchasing such drugs unauthorisedly from Satish and Sai without any bills and using a private courier service for their transport. Moreover, the authorities also noticed that the accused was selling these drugs at two to three times higher than MRP. It was also noticed that several financial transactions were also carried out with Satish and Sai while some medical shops also paid to Ganesh for purchase of drugs. The authorities are probing deep into the case.
