Driver Subrahmanyam Case: Sarpavaram CI Transferred Over Alleged Links To YSR MLC
Tuni Rural CI Chennakeshava Rao has been entrusted with the responsibilities as Investigating Officer for the driver Veedhi Subrahmanyam murder case.
Kakinada: Sarpavaram inspector (in-charge) Ravi Kumar has been sent to Vacancy Reserve (VR) over allegations of failing to arrest YSRC MLC Anantha Udaya Bhaskar, also known as Anantha Babu, Kakinada superintendent of police G. Bindu Madhav said.
Tuni Rural inspector Chenna Kesava Rao has been appointed as investigation officer after a complaint was filed by relatives of Veedhi Subrahmanyam against Ravi Kumar. Kakinada Rural inspector D.N. Chaitanya Krishna has been given additional charge of Sarpavaram inspector.
Anantha Babu is accused of killing his former driver, Veedhi Subrahmanyam, in 2022. Recently, the victim’s relatives complained that his followers threatened them not to give evidence in court and to depose in his favour.
On April 21, police surrounded Anantha Babu’s apartment to arrest him, but he was absconding. Ravi Kumar faced allegations of alerting him about the case, leading to his escape.
