Draft ward reorganisation plan placed in public domain for feedback

Visakhapatnam: Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) commissioner Ketan Garg on Sunday said a draft proposal has been prepared for reorganising the existing 98 wards in GVMC limits into 120 wards and has been placed in the public domain for information and feedback.
The proposal has been prepared in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporation (Division of Wards) Rules, 1996, issued through G.O.Ms.No.570 dated November 6, 1996, along with subsequent amendments and applicable regulations.
The draft proposal and ward boundary details will be available from Monday at the GVMC head office, all 10 zonal offices, key government offices within GVMC limits and on the official website, GVMC.
The commissioner appealed to residents within GVMC limits to submit suggestions or objections, if any, to the commissioner within seven days from the publication of the preliminary notification (Form-I), on or before May 24.
Ketan Garg said all public suggestions and objections would be examined before the proposal is forwarded to the government for further action.
