Dr Satish Reddy Urges Rural Students to Aim High

He appealed to students to set clear life goals and work relentlessly to reach greater heights

Nellore: Calling on students from rural backgrounds to recognise their inner strength and aspire for excellence, former DRDO chairman and Andhra Pradesh government honorary adviser Dr G. Satish Reddy on Sunday urged youth to draw inspiration from former President Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and turn their dreams into achievements. Describing village-born students as “gems from the soil”, he said a rural upbringing builds grit, perseverance and resilience.

Reddy was speaking at a district-level students’ quiz competition organised by the SEEDS voluntary organisation at Duttalur mandal headquarters. He attended the programme as chief guest along with Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh. He appealed to students to set clear life goals and work relentlessly to reach greater heights.

Sharing his own journey of studying under a kerosene lamp and overcoming limited resources, Dr Reddy encouraged students to believe in themselves and pursue success through hard work and discipline. Prizes and certificates were distributed to quiz winners, while spectacles were provided to elderly persons suffering from vision impairment.

Earlier, Reddy visited the SEEDS campus and appreciated its initiatives in technical skill training, organic farming, free eye medical camps and tailoring training for women. He lauded IAS officer Ramireddy Chandramouli Reddy for establishing the organisation in his native place and for identifying meritorious students from government schools, providing them financial assistance and academic guidance.

He also commended MLA Kakarla Suresh for contributing to regional development despite having a successful entrepreneurial career abroad, and urged people living in cities to actively support the progress of their native villages.
