Dola Questions Jagan’s Nellore Visit, Cites Harbour Development
The minister accused the YSRC of politicising the Juvvaladinne fishing harbour project

NELLORE: Minister for social welfare Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy on Monday questioned the purpose of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s proposed visit to Nellore and sought clarity on his agenda.
Addressing the media, the minister accused the YSRC of politicising the Juvvaladinne fishing harbour project.
He said the harbour has been developed at a cost of ?288.80 crore with facilities including landing platforms, auction halls, net-repair yards, roads, electricity and drinking water.
According to the minister, the project is expected to benefit around 25,000 fishing families and has the capacity to accommodate 1,250 boats and handle 41,000 tonnes of fish annually.
He also announced an autonomous maritime shipyard and systems development centre at Juvvaladinne at an estimated cost of ?45 crore, which is expected to generate about 1,000 jobs.
The minister alleged that policies during the tenure of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy affected the growth of Krishnapatnam Port, and credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu with enabling port development.
