Diwancheruvu Elevated Corridor To Be Ready Before Godavari Pushkaralu: Purandeswari
The MP thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari for sanctioning the project for the constituency.
Kakinada: Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari on Saturday said the elevated corridor at Diwancheruvu in Rajanagaram mandal is being constructed at a cost of Rs.385 crore and is expected to be completed by July 2027 ahead of the Godavari Pushkaralu.
Inspecting the ongoing works, she said the project includes a 2.55-km flyover being built at a cost of Rs.188 crore.
Purandeswari said the project is aimed at improving connectivity and facilitating smooth movement of pilgrims during the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027.
She said a six-lane elevated corridor is being developed along with a 10-metre-wide service road and a dedicated three-metre-wide pedestrian pathway. The contracting agency has also responded positively to proposals for landscaping and the creation of vehicle parking facilities, she added.
The MP thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari for sanctioning the project for the constituency.
She said the Centre has been giving priority to infrastructure development through investments in roads, railways, ports and airports, and described the Diwancheruvu elevated corridor as part of that initiative.
