Visakhapatnam: Parvathipuram Manyam district collector A. Shyam Prasad outlined plans for the region’s development during a review meeting on Friday. He highlighted the district’s achievements and ongoing initiatives.
He noted that the district has been recognised as aspirational by Niti Aayog, with Bhamani block emerging as the top-performing block in South India last quarter.
Several initiatives, following Niti Aayog’s guidelines, have been successfully implemented, particularly in education, health, and agriculture. A major milestone has been the support extended to tribal communities through marketing, branding, and packaging assistance for their products, including turmeric, tamarind, and hill brooms.
Additionally, unique welfare programmes such as the distribution of Balamrutham to Anganwadi children have been launched. Libraries have also been set up across villages to promote education and career development, offering resources for youth preparing for national-level competitions.
An innovation hub is being established in the district with an investment of Rs 3 crore. The administration has also prioritised disability welfare, collaborating with ALIMCO to provide essential aids and appliances, along with conducting awareness camps and training programmes for local residents.
