Dissidence Within Anantapur TD Ahead of Corporation Polls
Given the background, the former legislator is accusing MLA Prasad of being involved in at least 200 incidents of land grabbing in Anantapur Urban alone.

Anantapur:In a surprising development ahead of polls for the Anantapur Municipal Corporation, former MLA V. Prabhakar Chowdary has demanded a probe into his alleged illicit activities by the ruling Telugu Desam high command.
It may be recalled that TDP had denied Chowdary the party ticket in the last general elections. Instead, the high command chose to field Daggupati Prasad, who went on to win the elections. Subsequently, Chowdary failed to get any post, including that of the MLC, as the party high command picked Dalavai Ramadevi instead.Prabhakar Chowdary is a former municipal chairperson of Anantapur. He has supporters in almost all divisions of the AMC. TD dissidents, who are against sitting MLA Prasad, are also waiting for an opportunity to undermine the MLA.
Given the background, the former legislator is accusing MLA Prasad of being involved in at least 200 incidents of land grabbing in Anantapur Urban alone.
Prakash Chowdary said, “We have submitted evidence of land grab, including threatening calls made by MLA Prasad, to the TDP state unit president. The former legislator alleged that no action has been taken in the matter.
Chowdary demanded that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and IT minister Nara Lokesh take decisive steps in this regard ahead of the upcoming ULB polls. He observed that the party might otherwise face an uphill task in the polls owing to the MLAs anti-people activities.
The former legislator also referred to a phone conversation between the MLA and a contractor, which has gone viral on social media. The contractor is out on bail with regard to a case registered against him.
Amid this, speculation is rife that several former MLAs and senior leaders of Anantapur and Satya Sai districts have received invitations from the YSRC to join the party. TD had denied these leaders MLA tickets that they had sought during the last general elections, sources said.
