Denmark Team Explores Power Grid Solutions for Amaravati
The delegation sat with officials at the APCRDA headquarters at Rayapudi and the two sides discussed the planning and design of the proposed 33-kV power grid and ways to enhance its capacity to meet Amaravati’s future electricity demand.
Vijayawada:A Danish delegation visited Amaravati on Tuesday as part of the India-Denmark Energy Partnership (INDEP) and held discussions with Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) officials on strengthening the power infrastructure of the capital city.
The delegation sat with officials at the APCRDA headquarters at Rayapudi and the two sides discussed the planning and design of the proposed 33-kV power grid and ways to enhance its capacity to meet Amaravati’s future electricity demand.
The discussions also covered integration of renewable energy sources, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The possibility of adapting best practices from Denmark’s power sector to Amaravati’s requirements was explored.
The talks also focused on sharing technical expertise and experience in developing and maintaining power systems and exploring further technical cooperation. The collaboration is expected to support the development of reliable and efficient electricity infrastructure for the capital region.
Later, APCRDA additional commissioner T. Rahul Kumar Reddy explained Amaravati’s development plans to the delegation at the Amaravati Integrated Command Control Centre at the Rayapudi headquarters. Using a digital twin, he presented a visual simulation of ongoing works, proposed projects and infrastructure development, including the power network.
APCRDA office management director Vallabhaneni Srinivasa Rao, economic development joint director Anjana James, general manager SJS Stephen, IT additional director Kushwanth and executive engineer (electrical) A Jessica Rajeswari, among others, participated.
The Danish delegation comprised Andreas Sejr Andersen, adviser and project lead at the Danish Energy Agency; Jasmin Mehmedalic, chief consultant, Green Power Denmark; Gandom Faramarzi, consultant, Green Power Denmark; and Vidya Sagar Paladugu, deputy director, Central Electricity Authority.
