Court Rejects Anantha Babu’s Bail Plea
He said the examination of key witnesses had already been completed and the remaining witnesses were only experts and investigating officers, leaving no possibility of the accused intimidating them. He assured the court that Anantha Babu would not enter Kakinada city until the trial concluded and would remain in Rajamahendravaram

KAKINADA: The Rajamahendravaram Principal District and Sessions Court on Thursday dismissed the bail application filed by MLC Anantha Udaya Bhaskar alias Anantha Babu, the prime accused in the murder case of his former driver and Dalit youth Veedhi Subrahmanyam.
Senior High Court advocate C. Raghu, appearing for the petitioner, argued that a false case had been deliberately registered against Anantha Babu at Sarpavaram police station with the intention of preventing him from sharing details of the case with his legal counsel.
He said the examination of key witnesses had already been completed and the remaining witnesses were only experts and investigating officers, leaving no possibility of the accused intimidating them. He assured the court that Anantha Babu would not enter Kakinada city until the trial concluded and would remain in Rajamahendravaram.
However, Special Public Prosecutor Muppalla Subba Rao and counsel for the victims Muppalla Vishal Spurthi strongly opposed the bail plea. They argued that although the Supreme Court had previously granted conditional bail to Anantha Babu, he had misused the liberty to intimidate witnesses.
