Cordon And Search: 10 Suspicious Jharkhand Natives Identified, 27 Bikes Seized In Kavali

NELLORE: Nellore district police seized 27 two-wheelers and an auto-rickshaw without valid documents and identified 10 suspicious persons from Jharkhand residing in the area during a large-scale cordon and search operation in Kavali town of Nellore district on Sunday.
The operation was conducted in Indiranagar and Tufan Nagar under Kavali Two Town police station limits as part of efforts to strengthen law and order and curb anti-social activities.
Police said around 200 houses were searched between 5.30 am and 7 am under the supervision of the Kavali SDPO with the participation of one Circle Inspector, five Sub-Inspectors and 35 police personnel.
During the operation, police identified 10 suspicious persons from Jharkhand residing in the area. Officials said their details were being verified through technical surveillance.
Police also found that some youths were allegedly addicted to narcotic substances and banned tablets and were indulging in anti-social activities under their influence.
Following the operation, awareness programmes were conducted for residents and youth on the harmful effects of drug abuse. Police urged the public to share information regarding suspicious movements, drug supply and other illegal activities.
