Cops Raid Lodges in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram

The police chiefs of both districts warned that legal action would be taken against those establishments found promoting or allowing illegal activities or failing to follow security norms.

Visakhapatnam: Police officials from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts carried out surprise inspections at various hotels and lodges across both districts as part of an intensified effort to curb illegal activities and enhance security measures.

In Srikakulam, officers led by DSP K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, examined guest registers, verification procedures and identification documents of all individuals staying at these establishments.

"We are ensuring that proper records are maintained and that all guests have submitted valid identity cards. It is crucial that any suspicious persons or activities are immediately reported to the local police,” stated the DSP.

The managers were given strict instructions to install CCTV cameras to monitor all premises and surrounding areas of the lodges.

In the neighbouring Vizianagaram district, similar operations were conducted in the supervision of SP Vakul Jindal, across 72 lodges falling under nine police station jurisdictions, including Vizianagaram One Town, Two Town, Kothavalasa, N. Kota, Gajapathinagaram, Bobbili, Ramabhadrapuram, Cheepurupalli and Rajam.
