Control Rooms Set Up For Rain Relief Operation In Nandyal

KURNOOL: In view of the prevailing rains in the district, district collector G. Rajakumari has urged the public to remain alert. She said on Sunday that the meteorological department has forecast gusty winds along with moderate to heavy rainfall in the district.
For rain relief operations, a command control room has been set up at the Nandyal collectorate with the helpline number 08514-293903, which will function round-the-clock. The collector appealed to the public to immediately contact the control room in case of any emergencies or untoward incidents.
She also directed officials to establish similar control rooms in RDO and tahsildar offices.
Stating that heavy rains may cause the overflow of tanks and canals, the collector instructed officials to take precautionary measures and strictly regulate vehicular movement at culverts where water levels are dangerously high.
She further said that medical officers have been directed to keep adequate stocks of essential medicines ready in all government hospitals to ensure uninterrupted medical services.
