Constable Murdered Over Affair In Nandyal

Farooq had reportedly left for Nandyal on April 8, under the pretext of attending firing training in Visakhapatnam. When his phone remained unreachable, his family lodged a complaint at Mangalagiri Rural Police Station on April 14.

Kurnool: Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) constable Mulla Farooq (36), who had been missing for four days, was found murdered near Paccharla in the Nallamala forest region. A native of Kotakandukuru in Allagadda mandal, Farooq was serving in the elite Octopus unit at Mangalagiri.

Farooq had reportedly left for Nandyal on April 8, under the pretext of attending firing training in Visakhapatnam. When his phone remained unreachable, his family lodged a complaint at Mangalagiri Rural Police Station on April 14.

According to police, Farooq had developed an extramarital relationship with a woman from Nandamuri Nagar in Nandyal, who had previously lived in Pedda Kammaluru and later moved with her daughter after separating from her husband. Farooq often provided her with financial support and household items, sent through a young acquaintance named Shabbir.

Over time, Shabbir became romantically involved with the woman’s 18-year-old daughter. Though the woman initially objected to his proposal of marriage, the affair continued. Meanwhile, Farooq allegedly began harassing the young woman, prompting her to confide in Shabbir.

Enraged, and seeing Farooq as a threat to his relationship, Shabbir conspired with his friend Rizwan. They lured Farooq to the Chagalamarri area a few days ago, made him consume alcohol, and murdered him. Initially, the body was dumped locally, but was later moved to a remote forest near the Dorabavi bridge in the Nallamala region to avoid detection.

District SP Adhiraj Singh Rana has ordered a detailed investigation. Farooq’s body was shifted to Nandyal Government Hospital for postmortem.
