Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday directed officials to compile a welfare calendar indicating the dates of implementing various welfare schemes. Addressing the eighth collectors' conference, Naidu noted that officials should also create awareness among people on how to make use of the money received through welfare.
"Compile a welfare calendar with information on various welfare schemes implementation dates. Welfare should be delivered without interruption for the empowerment of the poor," the CM said on the second day of the conference.
Further, Naidu directed officials to take up an action plan to add value to vocations linked to castes, calling for transforming weaver and handicraft centres into experience centres.
Before issuing new pensions, he said families should be mapped as units, adding that larger families should be prioritised with more benefits.
Naidu observed that families should not be divided for ration and pension, underscoring that they should not morph into "micro families". Out of Rs 1.5 lakh crore earmarked for welfare, the CM said Rs 75,000 crore was spent on pensions.
According to the CM, the southern state took measures to transform five lakh women into entrepreneurs.
