Inaugurating the Kamma Corporation office at Tadepalli, she said the government was prioritising sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship.

VIJAYAWADA: BC, EWS welfare, handlooms and textiles minister S. Savitha on Thursday said the coalition government was committed to improving the economic condition of upper-caste economically weaker sections (EWS) through targeted welfare and development programmes.
Inaugurating the Kamma Corporation office at Tadepalli, she said the government was prioritising sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship. As part of its vision to create at least one entrepreneur from every family, EWS youth were being given preference in MSME parks proposed across constituencies.
Addressing the media, Savitha said corporation offices had been set up in a single compound for better accessibility. She said the BC Corporation was implementing special initiatives for EWS groups, including awareness programmes on natural farming to improve incomes and seminars on business opportunities in MSME parks.
She said the government aimed to create awareness among EWS communities about growth-oriented sectors and ensure a dignified livelihood.
The minister said the government was targeting creation of 20 lakh jobs by 2029 and had already generated 6.25 lakh jobs since assuming office. She added that Andhra Pradesh had attracted investments worth more than ₹25 lakh crore in the past 22 months, crediting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and minister Nara Lokesh.
Savitha said the coalition government remained focused on reducing poverty among both BCs and upper-caste EWS sections.
