CM to Launch NTR Bharosa Pension Distribution at Chamavaram
Naidu has highlighted the alliance’s 94 per cent strike rate in the last assembly elections, crediting it for the prioritization of welfare schemes and efficient administration.
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will visit Chamavaram village in Tuni constituency of Kakinada district on Monday to launch the distribution of NTR Bharosa social security pensions and interact with people through a “Praja Vedika” programme.
The chief minister’s day-long tour starts at 10am and will continue till 5pm. He will hear public grievances and receive representations from citizens. This is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen grassroots governance and public outreach.
He would inaugurate the June distribution of NTR Bharosa pensions that are giving relief to lakhs of beneficiaries. The government has released Rs.2,728.67 crore for the disbursement of pensions to 62.34 lakh beneficiaries in June.

Minister for rural poverty alleviation and NRI empowerment, Kondapalli Srinivas, said the government had also sanctioned 5,606 new spouse-category pensions and allocated an additional Rs.2.24 crore for their payment. The spouse pension scheme ensures that the benefits are transferred immediately to the surviving husband or wife after the death of a beneficiary.
According to the minister, pensions will be distributed at beneficiaries’ doorsteps from Monday morning through village and ward secretariat staff. The present government has spent a record Rs.65,886.57 crore on NTR Bharosa pensions since assuming office, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable sections.
Naidu is also expected to address the party cadre.
