CM To Launch Distribution Of NTR Baby Kits To Mothers

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will soon launch the distribution of NTR Baby Kits to mothers who deliver babies at government hospitals in the state.
Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav examined different NTR Baby Kits at the health department headquarters in Mangalagiri on Thursday. Health secretary G. Veerapandian and health commissioner Chakradhar explained the kits and their features to the minister.
Satya Kumar Yadav suggested measures to ensure the quality of the articles and directed officials to ensure that they are clean and safe for babies before distributing them to mothers.
The minister said the state government had allocated ₹51.15 crore annually for supplying NTR Baby Kits to mothers after childbirth at government hospitals. He said an average of 2.45 lakh deliveries take place at government hospitals in the state every year and each kit would cost ₹1,400.22.
Each NTR Baby Kit will contain a baby bed, baby macintosh, dresses, towel, three washable nappies, 200 grams of powder, 100 ml of shampoo, 200 ml of oil, soap, a soap box, rattle toy and kit bag.
