CM proposes task force, invites NUS to establish campus in Amaravati

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has mooted the setting up of a special task force to expand Google's partnership in AI, Cloud Computing and Digital Governance.

Naidu met the Google Cloud Asia-Pacific Region president, Karan Bajwa, during his visit to Singapore on Monday and discussed ways to develop AP as a major hub for AI and Data Centre. He sought the support of Google Cloud for usage of AI in government services and discussed strengthening the state’s Real Time Governance System further to use the modern Cloud technicalities.

He observed that AP was planning to expand the programmes like AI Skilling and Cloud Certification in association with Google Cloud.

The Chief Minister discussed setting up of AI and Cloud Computing centres in universities and engineering colleges in the state and explained how AP was making major strides to promote green energy.

Naidu also met president of National University of Singapore, Prof. Tan Eng Chye, along with senior officials handling wings like ‘innovation and urban studies’. He proposed the setting up of NUS’ international branch in Amaravati and proposed the setting up of a satellite campus if an international campus was not possible. He also sought the NUS's help in formulation of policies to attract global investors.

The NUS president agreed to discuss Naidu’s proposal to set up their campus in Amaravati.

Naidu held a meeting with a CII AP Business delegation, where several industrialists from AP were present.

The Chief Minister promised to involve industrialists on behalf of both the country and the state during his foreign visits and urged them to explain the opportunities available in AP for investments.
