AP CM Orders 50% Cut in his Convoy Vehicles to Save Fuel
Naidu praised the PM’s call for reducing the consumption of petrol and diesel products and promoting austerity measures in government functioning.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed a 50 per cent reduction in the number of vehicles in his official convoy during district tours as part of fuel conservation measures suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Naidu praised the PM’s call for reducing the consumption of petrol and diesel products and promoting austerity measures in government functioning.
During a meeting with senior police officials, including DGP Harish upta and the Intelligence chief, he said the cut should come into force immediately.
He instructed ministers and other VIPs to follow suit and enforce this rule at every level of the administration.
All sections of society should think and act in the larger interests of the nation, particularly in matters relating to energy conservation and efficient utilisation of resources, he said.
Sources said the state government is also examining additional policy measures aimed at reducing fuel consumption and promoting savings in official expenditure. The proposals would be discussed at the cabinet meeting on Thursday, after which further announcements are likely.
Meanwhile, Union minister of state for rural development, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, said he has already implemented a similar reduction in his convoy.
