CM Naidu to Inaugurate Rs 52.5-Crore Pilgrim Facilities at Indrakeeladri

The Sri Kanaka Durga Annaprasadam Sadanam and Sri Durga Bhavani Mahaprasadam Bhavan (Laddu Pottu) would be inaugurated at 11.32am on August 21 in the presence of state ministers and elected representatives. These would be dedicated to devotees.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate two major pilgrim facilities, built at a combined cost of Rs 52.50 crore at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam on Indrakeeladri here on Friday.

Temple trust chairman Borra Radhakrishna (Gandhi) and executive officer Seena Naik met Naidu, presented him the invitation, the goddess' prasadam and Sesha Vastram on Wednesday. Invitations were also extended to endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, education minister Nara Lokesh and endowments commissioner Ramachandra Mohan.

The Sri Kanaka Durga Annaprasadam Sadanam and Sri Durga Bhavani Mahaprasadam Bhavan (Laddu Pottu) would be inaugurated at 11.32am on August 21 in the presence of state ministers and elected representatives. These would be dedicated to devotees.

The Rs 26-crore Annaprasadam Sadanam has been built over 5,400 sq metres (58,125 sq ft). Its ground floor houses a central store, annadanam storage rooms, kitchen preparation area, queue lines and washrooms, with vehicle access provided on three sides for easy movement of supplies. The first floor has a dining hall capable of seating 800 devotees at a time, besides an 80-sq-metre washing area.

The Rs 26.50-crore Mahaprasadam Bhavan covers 3,600 sq metres (38,748 sq ft). The ground and first floors will have prasadam sales counters, distribution centres and queue lines, while the second and third floors are designed for preparing, packing, storing and handling pulihora, sakkara pongali and laddus.

Officials said mechanised kitchens would be installed shortly to meet rising pilgrim demand, maintain hygiene and uniform quality, and speed up food preparation.
