AP CM Naidu To Distribute Appointment Letters to 6,000 Constables

CM launches new tradition of direct engagement with newly recruited employees

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has launched yet another innovative initiative facilitating direct engagement between the Chief Minister and newly recruited government employees.

Naidu would personally hand over appointment letters to around 6,000 newly selected police constables on December 16.

In the past, senior officials used to handover appointment letters to newly selected cops after end of the recruitment process for various jobs. The CM now wants to set a new tradition.

Education minister Nara Lokesh had set in motion for the new tradition under which heand Naidu offered appointment letters to the selected candidates through Mega DSC 2025, which filled 16,000 teacher posts, on Sept 25. Now, Naidu would offer appointment letters to the selected candidates in the recent state police recruitment.

The CM said that since coming to power, the government has filled nearly 6,000 constable posts, overcoming legal hurdles and completing the recruitment process in a time-bound manner. Not only the selected candidates but also their family members have been invited to the event, reflecting the government’s inclusive approach.

Elaborate arrangements are being made at the 6th Battalion Parade Ground in Mangalagiri, Guntur district, where the programme would be held. Home minister Anitha, along with district police officials, reviewed the arrangements on Sunday.

Guntur collector Tamim Ansaria said that appointment letters would be distributed to approximately 6,000 candidates.

The formal launch of training for the newly recruited constables would also take place on Dec 16, with the CM inaugurating the programme. Training would commence from Dec 22.

After the inaugural event, the recruits would return to their hometowns and report to their allotted police training centres, district training centres or battalion training centres before Dec 22. The training would span nine months, with the first phase lasting four-and-a-half months, followed by a week’s leave and a second phase of training.

Out of 6,100 notified posts, 6,015 candidates were initially selected. After completion of their antecedent verification, 5,551 candidates were certified as ‘fit for training’. Notably, the selected candidates include a significant number of highly educated youth. As many as 810 candidates (13.46 per cent) hold technical qualifications such as BTech, MTech and BCA. Despite the minimum qualification being Intermediate, nearly 67.35 per cent of the selected candidates are graduates or postgraduates, including those with MBA, MA, MSc and LLB degrees.
