CM Naidu Stresses Use of Technology to Prevent Crime

The Chief Minister called for effective management of vehicular traffic by integrating CCTV cameras and ensuring close monitoring

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to use state-of-the-art technology to monitor criminals and prevent crimes, rather than identifying offenders only after crimes are committed. The CM reviewed the functioning of the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) at the Secretariat on Monday, where officials presented a demonstration of the facial recognition system.

Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized the need to use technology to identify suspects in advance and track their movements to prevent criminal activities. He also suggested implementing a colour-coding system for rowdy-sheeters and criminals in the database, based on the nature of their crimes, to aid in crime prevention. The Chief Minister called for effective management of vehicular traffic by integrating CCTV cameras and ensuring close monitoring. He stressed the importance of early detection of traffic violations using technology, instead of issuing challans after the norms are flouted.
