CM Naidu, Shivraj Lay Foundation for 3 Lakh PMAY-G Houses
The leaders joined a beneficiary family in laying the foundation for their house construction in Burripalem village in Guntur district, which will be built using three-dimensional (3D) printing technology, a first-of-its-kind in the country

Burripalem: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Sunday laid the foundation for the construction of three lakh welfare houses across the state under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 scheme. The leaders joined a beneficiary family in laying the foundation for their house construction in Burripalem village in Guntur district, which will be built using three-dimensional (3D) printing technology, a first-of-its-kind in the country.
"Chief Minister Chandrababu joined Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in laying the foundation for the construction of three lakh houses across the state," said an official release.
Chauhan assured the beneficiary family in Burripalem that a durable house will be constructed for them at the lowest possible cost at the earliest time.
Naidu underscored that the new house would incorporate the latest technology to ensure a cooler indoor environment.
Addressing a public meeting later, the CM said the state aimed to achieve 100 percent housing by 2029.
Houses built using this technology were expected to maintain indoor temperatures at least eight degrees Celsius lower than the outside temperature, providing greater comfort to residents, he said.
"The Centre had initially sanctioned only 75,000 houses to Andhra Pradesh under the regular quota. However, following a special request, the Union Government had increased the allocation to three lakh houses," said Naidu.
He said Chouhan had agreed to sanction another three lakh houses as soon as the current batch was completed and further three lakh houses next year, taking the total allocation to nine lakh houses.
Naidu said the coalition government was committed to ensuring that welfare and development reached all sections of the society.
Under the 'Pattabhishekam' initiative, he said long-pending land disputes had been resolved and house sites were distributed to the poor. House sites worth Rs 52,000 crore had been provided in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Mangalagiri and other parts of the state, he observed.
Praising Chouhan, Naidu described him as a leader dedicated to the welfare of the poor.
He recalled Chouhan's contribution to Madhya Pradesh through major river-linking projects.
Naidu criticised the previous YSRCP government for its handling of the housing programme between 2019 and 2024, claiming that six lakh houses meant for the poor had been cancelled and that corruption and irregularities had undermined the initiative.
According to the CM, house sites had been allotted in unsuitable locations, including tanks and hillocks, rendering them unfit for habitation, resulting in nearly four lakh beneficiaries allegedly returning their allotted house sites.
Meanwhile, Chouhan praised CM Naidu's leadership, stating that Andhra Pradesh was emerging as one of the leading States in the country.
He assured that the Centre would sanction another three lakh houses even before the ongoing construction of three lakh houses was completed.
Chouhan also promised an additional three lakh houses for Andhra Pradesh, taking the total commitment to nine lakh houses.
"The Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would extend full support to Andhra Pradesh's development," said Chouhan.
Highlighting the support extended to farmers, Chouhan said the Centre was providing Rs 6,000 annually to each eligible farmer under the PM-KISAN scheme, while the Andhra Pradesh government was adding another Rs 14,000 under Annadata Sukhibhava, taking the total annual assistance to Rs 20,000.
"PM Modi and Naidu were jointly steering Andhra Pradesh towards 360-degree development," he said, criticising the Congress for bifurcating the state without providing a capital and leaving Andhra Pradesh in a difficult situation.
He said the central and state governments are now working together to put Andhra Pradesh firmly on the path of progress and prosperity.
The CM and the Union Minister have also launched a pilot project for building houses with 3D printing technology.
As many as 117 such houses will be built in Burripalem and Obulanaidupalem villages at a cost of Rs 14 crore.
Officials informed the leaders that a house can be constructed in just 10 days deploying 3D printing technology and promised to complete the pilot project in six months.
The advanced 3D concrete printing technology is expected to significantly speed up construction, reduce labour requirements and construction waste, and ensure high standards of quality and durability in housing.
