CM Naidu Sets March Deadline to Clear Land Disputes

Vijayawada:The state government has cleared 232 long-pending land disputes involving about 31,000 acres valued at nearly Rs 5,000 crore, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Friday, asserting that even century-old land issues were being resolved.
Addressing the second day of the eighth district collectors’ conference at the Secretariat, Naidu said several land disputes had arisen due to the previous government’s “mismanagement”. He directed officials to settle them quickly and transparently.

Corruption: Naidu directed district collectors to clear all long-pending land disputes in AP by March. He warned officials of zero tolerance to corruption in revenue administration. Ministers and officials must visit villages and settle decades-old disputes transparently, he ordered.
Reviewing revenue, land administration, electricity, education, health, skills development and municipal affairs, Naidu directed officials to dispose of 2,918 pending applications concerning prohibited properties by October-end. The 22-A system should rely only on Webland data, with manual changes in revenue records stopped. Any inclusion of land in the prohibited list must follow notice to the pattadar, joint collector’s approval and an inquiry.
Blockchain: He ordered that all lands covered by completed resurvey and Record of Rights work be brought under blockchain protection within 45 days. From November 1, every parcel completing the survey should be integrated with blockchain in real time. The technology has already assigned blockchain IDs to 1.47 lakh land parcels in 89 villages across seven districts.
The CM said the Public Grievance Redressal System petitions represented only a fraction of the problems, particularly those faced by poor people unable to repeatedly visit offices. Collectors, MLAs and officials should make village visits and identify grievances themselves.
He called for AI-stack, deep-tech and data-lake systems across government departments, besides using legal AI for the backlog of court cases.
On the demand to include the Yanadi Konda community of Srikakulam in the Scheduled Tribes category, Naidu said the matter was under the Centre’s purview. He directed officials to consider extending benefits available to STs to the community on the lines of Budaga Jangams.
On power, he said the average purchase price fell to `4.97 per unit in 2025-26, saving 23 paise a unit, while tariffs had not been raised for two years. Collectors were asked to promote PM Surya Ghar, PM-KUSUM and rooftop solar on schools and government buildings. A target of 47mw rooftop capacity on 2,932 buildings in 28 districts was set. Pumped-storage and battery storage should help meet rising demand, with peak demand projected at 15,016 million units in 2026-27.
Naidu stressed continuous skill development, so that local youth could secure jobs in industries. He called for expansion of PM-SETU, constituency-wise job fairs, industry links with ITIs and polytechnics and AI training. Nearly 4.98 lakh youths have registered on the skill portal.
He set a 2027 target for 100 per cent literacy under Akshara Andhra and ordered school safety audits, while seeking technology-enabled healthcare.
