CM Naidu, Lokesh to Attend Parent-Teacher Meeting in Puttaparthi

Over 2 crore persons to attend mega event

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government aims to set a new record by conducting a mega parent-teacher meeting with an expected turnout of over two crore students, teachers, parents and donors at Puttaparthi in Sri Satya Sai district on Thursday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and education minister Nara Lokesh would attend the meeting.

The event was planned at the initiative of Lokesh. The venue is the Zilla Parishad High School at Kothacheruvu in Puttaparthi assembly segment.

Some 61,000 educational institutions including government, aided, unaided and junior colleges would attend the event. Among the participants are 74,96,228 students, 3,32,770 teachers, 1,49,92,456 parents and donors.

The government is holding this event for the second consecutive academic year. This would help parents ascertain the academic progress of their children. The government will give away progress cards to parents.

The parents can share their views and give suggestions to the government for further development of schools to ensure quality of education and amenities, officials said.
