CM Naidu Lauds Nellore District Administration for Top Rankings

Naidu praised collector Himanshu Shukla and the district administration for their performance across government departments.

Nellore:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday congratulated Nellore for its emergence as the top-performing district in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the Pedala Sevalo Praja Vedika programme at Punnapuvaaripalem in Chillakuru mandal, Naidu praised collector Himanshu Shukla and the district administration for their performance across government departments.

The Chief Minister said Nellore had improved from second place last year to secure the top position in the state. He also praised Gudur constituency for improving its ranking from 88th to 27th and urged officials to achieve better results.

Naidu said the district had performed above the state average in drinking water supply, urban services, civic infrastructure, street lighting, Anna Canteens and NTR Bharosa pension distribution. He praised DRDA project director Nagaraja Kumari as the district recorded 91 per cent public satisfaction in pension delivery.

The CM also praised the Panchayat Raj department for rural road development and the revenue department for the implementation of the resurvey programme. He appreciated the performance of the registration and stamps, endowments, transport, civil supplies, APSRTC and health departments.

He announced that the Sanjeevani healthcare project would be launched across the state on August 15.

Naidu specially praised fire officer Vaka Srinivas Reddy after the district's Fire Services recorded a performance some 13 per cent above the state average. He lauded SP Ajitha Vejendla for curbing ganja-related offences and crimes against women.

The chief minister appreciated the performance of the school education, ICDS, agriculture, BC welfare, social welfare, tribal welfare, irrigation, pollution control board, fisheries, mines, sports, housing and public grievance redressal departments.

Joint collector Mogili Venkateswarlu was commended for the effective disposal of public grievances through the PGRS system.

The Chief Minister said Nellore had fallen short in only two of the 57 services evaluated by the state while performing well in all other sectors. He credited collector Himanshu Shukla's leadership for the district's achievements and urged the administration to secure over 90 per cent positive ratings across all public services.
