CM Naidu Expresses Shock Over Deaths; Rs.15 Lakh Ex-gratia Announced

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed shock over the death of eight persons in the explosion at the firecracker unit near Kailasapatnam village in Kotavuratla mandal of Anakapalli district on Sunday.
The state government has announced an ex-gratia of 15 lakhs for the family of each deceased. The Anakapalli district collector and superintendent of police have been asked to coordinate relief efforts.
"The government will stand by the affected families during this difficult time," said the Chief Minister, who also inquired about the injured persons in the disaster.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan inquired about the accident from home minister Anita and extended his condolences to the affected families. Several other state ministers, including Vasamsetty Subhash (Labour) and Satya Kumar Yadav (Health) have expressed grief over the incident.
The health minister asked hospital authorities to provide the mandated treatment on a "war footing."
Political leaders across party lines reacted to the tragedy. BJP state president and Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari expressed shock and urged authorities to provide better medical services to the injured. TDP state president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao expressed deep anguish over the incident.
Former chief minister and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed sorrow, describing the incident as "deeply distressing." He directed YSRC leaders to visit the accident site and offer assistance.
