CM Naidu Expresses Anger Over TD Rows

Some harsh comments by Prasad against cine actor Junior NTR as also minister Nara Lokesh turned viral on social media platforms

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his displeasure over Anantapur MLA Daggupati Prasad’s controversial audio comments and warned that internal disputes and group rivalries will not be tolerated in the Telugu Desam party.

Some harsh comments by Prasad against cine actor Junior NTR as also minister Nara Lokesh turned viral on social media platforms, following which partymen staged protests at the MLA’s residence on Sunday. Later, Prasad denied he made those comments.

The CM also conveyed his dissatisfaction over the conduct of Amadalavalasa and Guntur East MLAs. He asked why the party should suffer setbacks because of the mistakes of individual legislators.

Naidu stressed that MLAs must not create such ugly situations. They must immediately clarify facts before the public. Careless behaviour by party representatives could bring disrepute and weaken the party’s image, he said.

It is learned that the CM, as party chief, sought detailed reports on these controversies. He also directed TD leaders to counter the “misinformation” campaign launched by YSRC about the government’s free bus travel scheme for women.

He said people’s trust and close connection with the government are the true sources of goodwill. “All MLAs should work in responsible ways and strengthen the party’s image through disciplined conduct.”
