AP Cabinet Board Nods for ₹19k Cr Investments, Focuses on Food Parks
"If we can build 25,000 rooms, we can transform AP into a global tourism hub," Naidu said, adding that the state tourism corporation must aim for a Rs.1,000 crore revenue target over the next 15 years.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday asserted that "teamwork and speed of delivery" would remain the state’s development mantra.
Presiding over the 14th state investment promotion board meeting in Amaravati, the Chief Minister cleared investment proposals worth Rs.19,391 crore, promising a windfall of 11,753 jobs across the state.
Reiterating his vision to restore 'Brand AP', Naidu noted that the state successfully regained investor confidence in 2025, attracting giants like Google, Tata, Reliance and Adani. "The 'kick' of success is incomparable. Every minister and official must work for that goal to ensure the investment flow remains uninterrupted in 2026," he said.
Turning his attention to the hospitality sector, the CM asked officials to draft a master plan for Suryalanka Beach, emphasising a 15-km "pollution-free" clean beachfront. He mooted a "Maldives-style" island tourism circuit by developing small islands near Sullurpeta.
"If we can build 25,000 rooms, we can transform AP into a global tourism hub," he said, adding that the state tourism corporation must aim for a Rs.1,000 crore revenue target over the next 15 years.
Naidu expressed satisfaction over power sector reforms, noting that the government opted to shield the common man by absorbing Rs.4,500 crore in True-up charges. "We have reduced tariffs by 13 paise. Our goal is to bring down the power purchase cost to Rs.3.70 per unit by 2029," he said, linking a stable power supply to the influx of Data Centres and AI hubs.
Referring to food processing units, the Chief Minister stressed the need for more food processing units in the Tirupati region. He said by providing value addition and global marketing facilities, farmers would benefit in a big way.
Officials, he said, should focus more on establishing food processing units. “Some 5,000 acres are necessary for developing a space city. Officials must initiate steps to set up food parks and aluminium downstream units in Makavarapalem.”
Later, the CM launched the AP IT infra portal to streamline infrastructure demands for the tech sector.
Prominent approvals on Tuesday included Tata Power’s Rs.6,675 crore project in Nellore and Shirdi Sai Electricals' Rs.5,571 crore venture in Kadapa.
Ministers N. Lokesh, K. Atchannaidu, Payyavula Kesav, Gottipati Ravi, Anagani Satyaprasad, P. Narayana, Kandula Durgesh, B.C. Janardhana Reddy, Vasamsetti Subhas and T.G. Bharath, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand and other officials were present.
