Kakinada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced ₹1 crore insurance cover for municipal workers and ₹20 lakhs to outsourced municipal workers. Insurance coverage will be the same in the event of permanent disability. Children of such workers will be provided financial assistance of ₹8 lakh.

The CM made the insurance coverage available while addressing a Swachh Andhra Programme and attending an awareness rally at Peddapuram. He said, “Municipal workers are striving hard to ensure good health for people. In return, our government will look after their welfare.”
Chandrababu Naidu asserted that the NDA alliance government is giving importance to cleanliness. It intends to remove 85 lakhs tonnes of garbage from various towns and villages by October 2 and make them garbage-free.
The Chief Minister underlined that his government is giving preference to creating wealth from trash. He disclosed that an energy-from-waste plant will be established in Peddapuram at a cost of ₹330 crore to produce 15 MW of power.
Chandrababu Naidu emphasised that the alliance government is implementing its Super Six promises, which have become super hit in the state. In this regard, he said nearly 1 crore women have travelled in RTC buses for free so far.
The CM said his brainchild P-4 scheme is being implemented from August 19, while the Ratan Tata innovation Hub has been inaugurated on August 21.
He appealed to the people not to entertain other political parties, in particular the party which has lost its opposition status. He asked people to bless the NDA coalition partners and they will provide the best future for the state and its people. Describing YSRC Party as a genie, he said this evil force must be buried so deep that it cannot surface again.
Those present at the programme include Swachandra Corporation chairman K. Pattabhi, Minister P. Narayana, Peddapuram MLA Nimmakayala China Rajappa, district collector S. Shan Mohan, Rajya Sabha member Sana Satish and Kakinada MP T. Uday Srinivas.
