CM Moots 15 Per Cent Growth Rate For AP Under Swarna Andhra Vision-2047

A state-level commission and mission working groups will be constituted to monitor and facilitate implementation of the 10 guiding principles

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has envisaged a 15 per cent growth rate for Andhra Pradesh under the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047.

The state, he said, has achieved a compound annual growth rate of 13.5 per cent during 2014-19 while the current growth rate is around 11 per cent.

The state planning department on Monday has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Institute for Financial Management and Research associated with KREA University to support implementation of the 10 guiding principles of Swarna Andhra Vision-2047.

Planning department principal secretary Piyush Kumar and IFMR’s representative Kapil Viswanatahan exchanged the documents.

As part of the MoU, IFMR will oversee implementation of the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 and support the establishment of Mission Cells for achieving the GSDP targets and also higher growth rates. IFMR will work with the AP government in initiatives like Zero Poverty, Water Security and Deep Tech missions and undertake field-level studies, provide policy recommendations and suggest innovative approaches related to the 10 guiding principles.

Naidu asserted that the government was integrating deep technologies across various sectors to accelerate development and noted that AP has attracted projects in varied sectors like AI skilling, drone mapping, automobiles, metals, steel, rare earth minerals, semiconductors, defence manufacturing and others. “We are promoting AI and Quantum Technologies in a big way.”

Minister for finance Payyavula Keshav and representatives from KREA university and IFMR and also officials from AP’s planning department were present.
