CM Chandrababu Naidu Seeks Bullet Train Link to Amaravati
They promised efforts to run 1,012 special trains from various places to Rajamahendravaram for the Godavari Pushkarams.

Vijayawada:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for linking the proposed southern Bullet train project with the upcoming international airport in Amaravati.
Central government plans are to have a bullet train network connecting Hyderabad, Chennai, Amaravati and Bengaluru.
The CM chaired a review meeting on progress in the execution of several railway projects in AP with infrastructure and investments minister BC Janardhan Reddy, senior officials from AP and SCR general manager Sanjay Srivastava here on Monday.
At the meeting, Naidu proposed railway lines connecting ports like Mulapeta, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada and Rayamapayam. He said the government was planning to develop the logistics sector in a big way and called for the support of the railways for transporting cargo to several places in AP.
Officials discussed with the CM the progress in execution of railway line projects in the state like Nandikudi-Srikalahasthi, Guntur-Guntakal, Gunadala-Mustabad Bypass, Renigunta, Rayadurga-Thumukur, at a cost of Rs 33,630 crore.
The meeting discussed proposals for developing a high-speed elevated corridor connecting Hyderabad-Bengaluru and Hyderabad-Chennai via Amaravati, so that the proposed southern Bullet train project could be taken up connecting the proposed international airport in Amravati.
The CM reviewed works for laying new railway lines spread over 1,564km.
Naidu suggested to the railways to operate the rail services between Kotipalli-Narasapur and Kakinada-Kotipalli-Amalapuram. He agreed to a proposal for allocation of land to set up new railway coach terminals in Amaravati and Gannavaram.
The officials said railway coach terminals at Vijayawada and Guntur were getting expanded. The CM directed the authorities to expedite the Guntur-Guntakal railway line doubling works and the laying of a third line between Kazipet and Vijayawada.
Naidu called for developing Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati railway stations as iconic stations and said he wanted the upcoming Amarvati railway station to be novel in its design.
Railway officials informed the CM that they were taking up modernization works on 73 railway stations in AP under the Amrit Stations programme. The upgradation works of Rajamahendravaram railway station at a cost of Rs 271 crore would be over before the start of the Godavari Pushkarams.
