CM, Central Ministers to Attend Seafood Exports’ National Workshop Today
Interactive sessions will be held with stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and startups associated with the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and four Central ministers will attend a two-day national workshop on seafood exports, jointly organised by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
The workshop will deliberate on key issues, including promotion of seafood exports, development of value-added products, international quality standards, traceability systems, certification processes, and the role of startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in strengthening the sector.
Naidu will attend the inaugural session along with central ministers Piyush Goyal of Commerce and Industry, Rajiv Ranjan Singh of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Panchayati Raj, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu of Civil Aviation, Chirag Paswan of Food Processing Industries, and union ministers of state George Kurian and S. P. Singh Baghel.
As part of the programme, benefits under the Prime Minister Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and Kisan Credit Card (KCC) schemes will be distributed to eligible beneficiaries.

The second day will feature technical sessions focusing on value-added seafood products, sustainable certification, traceability mechanisms, MSME promotion, deep-sea resource utilisation, seaweed cultivation, ornamental fisheries, and pearl farming. Experts, industry representatives, exporters, and government officials will participate in these discussions.
The two-day workshop is expected to provide a major platform for enhancing India’s seafood export potential, improving the global competitiveness of Indian marine products, and creating new opportunities for fishermen, aquaculture farmers, exporters, and entrepreneurs.
