CM Naidu Asks Party Leaders to Intensify Campaign for Local Body Polls

Chandrababu Naidu has urged alliance leaders to intensify campaigning for local body polls, maintain coordination and highlight the government’s welfare and development initiatives.

Telugu Desam national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the party leaders to intensify their election campaign called ‘Cheppam-Chestunnam’ and engage the people for the local body polls to reap a rich harvest.

The results this time, he said, should be better for the alliance parties than what they got in the 2024 polls.

The CM held a tele-conference with senior party leaders on Monday. He directed them to actively take up electioneering for the local body polls. “We are going to the people a while after the 2024 elections. We must take the local body polls seriously and follow the ‘Mitra Dharma’ among the three party alliance,” he said, stressing that unity was important.

‘

Naidu noted that after the alliance assumed power, they had initiated a series of welfare schemes and developmental projects and “we also enabled the people to avail a series of government services by simplifying the procedures as in the introduction of the whatsapp system.”

He said, “We are governing the state in ways as to benefit every community and region; and we are implementing welfare schemes by setting new records. We are implementing whatever promises we had made at the time of elections. We are providing justice to the BCs in local body elections and giving preference to the minorities with an aim to ensure participation of every community in the governance of the state,” he said.

He asked the party cadre to serve as a bridge between the government and the people and called for the leaders and the cadre from all the three alliance parties to work in coordination with one another.

The CM wanted the party leaders and the cadre to explain the benefits of how the NDA working at the central, state and even at the local bodies’ level could do wonders in terms of welfare and development to the people.

He noted that some people could not get the opportunity to contest the local body polls due to the alliance constraints, or due to reservation and social-engineering. “But, we would honour such people working for the state and the party, by accommodating them in nominated posts.”

Naidu urged the party leaders and the cadre to expose before the public the “anarchy” being perpetrated by the opposition YSR Congress party.

The CM said he wanted the NDA flags to fly in every seat ranging from the wards to the division.
