CM Asks MLAs To Keep People Informed On Development Works

The booklet provides a consolidated account of development initiatives across various departments: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has stressed that elected representatives should not only ensure the execution of development works but also regularly inform the public about the projects and the progress achieved in their constituencies.

He suggested that MLAs prepare and make available development reports and progress cards to help people track government initiatives.
Naidu made these observations when finance minister and Uravakonda MLA Payyavula Keshav submitted a booklet detailing development works undertaken in his constituency over the past two years.
The booklet provides a consolidated account of development initiatives across various departments, highlighting changes brought about at the village level. It covers improvements in drinking water supply, benefits from the widening of the Handri-Neeva canal, approval of lift irrigation projects, construction of cement roads in villages and sanction of new government buildings.
Finance minister Keshav explained that the publication had been designed as a constituency progress card, offering a concise overview of development works undertaken in different sectors during the past two years.
The CM said such reports should also help people understand the differences between the previous government's record and the development initiatives being implemented by the present dispensation. He emphasised the need for MLAs to make information on development works accessible to the public rather than limiting their efforts to project execution.

Payyavula Keshav thanked Naidu for sanctioning several development works and lift irrigation projects that have contributed to the development of Uravakonda constituency.
