Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Actor Venkatesh Inaugurate APL Season-4
Ram Mohan Naidu expressed his excitement over the commencement of APL Season 4 in Visakhapatnam. He expressed his happiness that Visakhapatnam was chosen as the venue for APL Season 4.
Visakhapatnam: Union civil aviation minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu and actor Venkatesh along with other celebrities graced the opening ceremony of Andhra Premier League Season 4 as chief guests on Friday. The first match was held between Kakinada Kings against Amaravati Royals.
Ram Mohan Naidu expressed his excitement over the commencement of APL Season 4 in Visakhapatnam. He expressed his happiness that Visakhapatnam was chosen as the venue for APL Season 4.
The Union minister noted that the previous government had limited cricket’s growth while the present administration has given importance to the game aimed at bringing cricket closer to the public, the audience and the players.
He advised players to focus on the game. He expressed hope that the cricketing talent from Andhra would be recognised hereafter. He pointed out that the rural players are thriving of late, highlighting young talents like Vaibhav Surya Vamsi. The Union minister said he is hopeful of more talented players emerging from North Andhra.
He emphasised that there is no shortage of talent in India. He said it is crucial to create opportunities for these upcoming players, and APL Season 4 has become an essential platform for showcasing such talent.
Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) president and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath said, “We have started the tournament on a grand scale, with seven teams playing. We are encouraging players from all different backgrounds and want them to be successful like Nitish Kumar Reddy. ”
He added, “We have already seen two IPL matches here and Visakhapatnam proved lucky for Delhi Capitals, making them select the venue as its home ground. The main motive behind the APL tournament is to help rural and low-income people.”
Entertainment highlights include a live dance performance by Tollywood actress Pragya Jaiswal and live programme by music director Charan Pakala, who also composed the tournament’s official anthem. The ceremony also featured laser and drone shows.
