City Court Sends PSR Anjaneyulu To Judicial Remand Till May 7

Vijayawada:A city court has remanded former Andhra Pradesh Intelligence Chief PSR Anjaneyulu to judicial custody until May 7. He has been lodged in the district jail.

Anjaneyulu was arrested by AP CID officials in Hyderabad on Tuesday in connection with a case involving the alleged harassment and illegal detention of actress Kadambari Jethwani. He was brought to the CID office in Vijayawada for questioning. Following a medical examination at the government hospital on Wednesday morning, he was produced before the court, which ordered judicial remand.

The CID is also filing a separate petition seeking police custody to recover key material evidence, including an iPad and mobile phone said to contain records of daily activities.

In its remand report submitted to the third additional judicial magistrate, the CID stated that Anjaneyulu, listed as accused no. 2, had shown disregard for the law. It argued that if not taken into custody, he might tamper with evidence and influence the investigation.

The report also alleged that the accused not only committed criminal acts but also manipulated other officials like “toys in his hands” to carry out serious offences against an innocent woman.
