The Budget has been termed confidence-building at a time of heightened global uncertainty, sending a strong signal of continuity, credibility and reform-driven governance: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: The Confederation of Indian Industry - Andhra Pradesh has welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, describing it as a balanced and forward-looking roadmap that reinforces the nation’s long-term economic growth while ensuring macroeconomic stability.
Presented by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Budget has been termed confidence-building at a time of heightened global uncertainty, sending a strong signal of continuity, credibility and reform-driven governance.
CII-AP chairman Murali Krishna Gannamani said the Budget reflected a judicious blend of fiscal prudence and ambitious growth. He noted that the focus on key sectors such as manufacturing, MSMEs, agriculture and education would strengthen the country’s economic foundations and steer India towards the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
Emphasis on productivity, infrastructure development and export competitiveness, he said, would generate employment, support sustained growth and enhance India’s global economic standing, with significant benefits for southern states, particularly Andhra Pradesh.
Murali Krishna highlighted the special thrust on emerging sectors such as bio-pharma, semiconductors and electronics, rare earths and container manufacturing, which would bolster AP’s industrial ecosystem and export potential.
He also underlined strong support for MSMEs, describing them as the backbone of the national economy. Measures to improve access to credit, promote technology adoption and strengthen skill development would enable small and medium enterprises to scale up and contribute meaningfully to regional growth.
He welcomed the proposed `20,000 crore outlay over five years for Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage technologies, calling it a significant step towards achieving Net Zero goals.
CII AP vice chairman S. Narendra Kumar said the launch of India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 and the doubling of the electronics components manufacturing scheme outlay to `40,000 crore would deepen domestic capabilities and fortify supply chains. He termed the proposed tax holiday till 2047 for global cloud service providers a transformative move that could position Andhra Pradesh, particularly Visakhapatnam, as a preferred destination for hyperscale data centres, driving investments in cloud, AI and digital infrastructure.
CII- Vijayawada chairperson V Nagalakshmi said the establishment of five regional medical hubs and initiatives to strengthen the AYUSH sector, including new institutes, upgraded labs and enhanced certification standards, would promote medical tourism and traditional medicine.
Past chairman D.V. Ravindranath welcomed reforms aimed at ease of doing business, including risk-based customs clearance, digitisation and reduced compliance burden, while noting that the proposed high-level committee on banking for Viksit Bharat would strengthen the financial sector’s readiness.
Other industry leaders lauded sector-specific measures covering bio-pharma, agriculture, MSMEs, textiles, education, tourism, sports and the AVGC sector, asserting that the Budget would spur inclusive growth, innovation and employment, while unlocking AP’s vast economic potential.
